Vancouver Mural Fest - Strathcona Street Party
Some photographs of the weekend's Strathcona Street Party hosted by the good folk at Vancouver Mural Fest as a little prelude to the city's second annual largest display of public art. Artists came together to create work for the city and wrap two buildings in murals from East Cordova between Campbell and Hawks Street. There were live DJs, a craft beer garden, market, & and local food trucks, to kick off the start of summer and get us warmed up for VMF coming up in August.
Celebrations lasted from noon to 6 p.m. and there was plenty to take in & explore.
Some the artists included: Forand, Lauren Brevner, MUR0NE, and the Capilano IDEA Design Program, AA Crew, Andrew Dexel along with the help of Indigenous youth participating in the Young Artist Warriors workshops, and Tristesse Seeliger.
Here is a little photo diary of the day's activities.
