Seasonal Showcase : Vancouver Christmas Art Market

While fighting off frost & the recent cold sweeping over Vancouver we wandered into The American on Main St. ( formerly the Electric Owl ) and were greeted by festive site of talented Vancouver artists showcasing their work and selling their goods to those looking for something special to fill their stockings with.

The event was put on by SNAG, an "Alternative Contemporary Arts" community that hosts biweekly live painting events across the street at the Cobalt and are an integral element in the fabric of Vancouver's art scene.  This Christmas market was a wonderful opportunity to "support local artists and your personal shopping addiction" and we hope it becomes an annual event. For all of the Christmas Market options available in the city during the holidays, this one is our favourite - a nice intimate space to pick the brains of fellow creators.

Thank you SNAG for another evening of inspiration & for keeping it real.

This stand caught really our eye with its DIY vibes, Michelle was incredibly friendly and open to share how she created her super rad patches and custom embroidery - she even offered little zines on how to create your own stitch wizardry.

All that art had us really working up an appetite so capped off the night with a meal up the road at a popular haunt that serves up delicious vegetarian dishes in a casual retro atmosphere - The Foundation. We ordered the persistent peanut burger and the serial salad mmm.

Seed, organic grains, garbanzi & fruit with sesame sauce - the serial salad.
